Privacy Policy

The short version: Better Sleep is a fully offline app. We do not collect your personal data, require an account, or send any of your information to our servers. Everything you create stays on your device.

1. Information We Collect

Better Sleep does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to us or our servers.

All data you create within the app — including your custom sound mixes, favorites, listening history, and settings — is stored locally on your device only and never leaves it.

2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following information is stored only on your device using local storage (SQLite database and system preferences):

3. Advertising

Better Sleep displays ads served by Google AdMob. To serve relevant ads, Google may collect and use certain device information, including:

On iOS, the app will ask for your permission before allowing Google to access your device's advertising identifier, in accordance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You can change this permission at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

On Android, you can opt out of interest-based advertising in Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID.

4. Third-Party Services

Better Sleep uses the following third-party service, which has its own privacy policy:

5. Audio Files You Import

When you import audio files (custom sounds or songs) into the app, those files are copied to the app's private local storage on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere. Only you can access them, and they are deleted when you remove the sound from the app or uninstall the app.

6. Children's Privacy

Better Sleep is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

7. Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, it is retained until you delete it manually (via Settings → Delete All Data) or until you uninstall the app. We have no access to this data and cannot delete it on your behalf.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal data on any server, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. To remove all app data, use the in-app delete option or uninstall the app.

9. Security

Your data never leaves your device, which means it is protected by your device's own security mechanisms (screen lock, device encryption). We do not maintain any servers that could be breached to expose your data.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
